Chef Proprietor Steven Strenkert leads the way in operations and in the kitchen with a menu that features fresh, seasonal ingredients. Some of the restaurant’s signature menu items: a fisherman’s chowder, flash fried tempura sushi rolls, top-rated grilled salmon club, cellophane noodle rock shrimp, frenched-cut breast chicken, housemade ribbon pasta and rum raisin bread pudding, chocolate soufflé. Steven is a culinary trained chef from the prestigious Culinary Institute of American with 10 year of experiences in 5-star restaurants in New York, Long Island, California and 15 years as a personal/private Chef on estates, motor and sailing yachts sailing to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, crossing the Atlantic and the Panama Canal. His fresh, local, and seasonal approach and love of serving people delicious food is demonstrated through his philosophy of servant leadership.

At TACK & Jibe, Chef Steven’s menu showcases the natural flavors of the freshest ingredients, with all sauces, marinades, dressings, and desserts being housemade. He also hand selects the wide varieties of wines, sakes, ports, and beers.

For dinner start with a bottle of Cabernet, Madfish from Australia or a Blue Point Summer Ale and an appetizer of sake cured salmon served on wontons with a cucumber slaw, a cup of fisherman’s chowder soup, and for an entrée the rum runner NY strip steak with fingerling potatoes and market vegetables finishing with a citrus cake with citrus chutney.

Lunch items at TACK & JIBE can also include beverages, appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and desserts. Start with a glass of Pinot Grigio, Kris from Italy, chef’s selection of flatbreads, chef’s soup of the day, house salad of mesclun greens with herb wine vinaigrette and vegetable crisps, and seasonal fruit tart for dessert.

High Tea is served from 2 pm – 5 pm., come share a 3-tiered savory to sweet plate: sopressata Italian sausage, tea sandwiches: salmon and cucumber dill, and choice of fresh brewed leafed tea served hot or cold.

TACK & JIBE is a friendly, fine dining environment with a nautical vibe with table and banquet seating, and streaming soft, pleasant music. The restaurant offers dining, takeout, catering, private dining/special event, and cooking classes.
